Women
and children have been the victims of sex trafficking for many years. This has
been going on throughout centuries, and around the early 1900s it became a
political issue. Many women have been abused, kidnapped and sold into sex
trafficking. The occurrence of sex trafficking has been increasing over
time and not decreasing and this has become an even bigger problem than it was
before.
A woman
named Usha Narayane helped stop a woman from being raped and abused in her town
by standing up to a man named Akku Yadav and his gang. Akku Yadav's gang would
steal girls from their homes and would rape them in the middle of their town so they would be embarrassed. Akku Yadav
once raped a pregnant women in the middle of the town and then cut off her
breasts just to put fear into the people. Akku Yadav was a horrible man that
everyone feared and would not go against because they would fear for their lives
of being in danger. But not Usha Narayane she didn't fear him or his gang, so
she reported them to the police and when they threatened her to stop she
threatened them back and they started to backoff. Over time Usha Narayane
got arrested and he was in court when he told the women that he will never stop
the rape and the abuse. Then at that moment all the women in the court got up,
rushed toward him and started stabbing him until he died. After that the police
blamed Usha Narayane for the death of Akku Yadav but all the women said they
had killed him. All of the women said that they should be arrested, but the
police could not do that so they let Usha Narayane go. Usha Narayane
strived for change and she saved many people and more people should be like
that, more people should stand up for what they believe in and make it known
throughout the world.
Another
story from the book Half the Sky is when a young girl got tricked into
sex trafficking by a man who promised her work at another city. The girl
thought she was going to the city to work for her family and get them some
money for food and medical reasons but when she left and got there she was sold
into sextrafficking. The girl was grown up being a sex slave but over
sometime some organizations helped her get out and go back to family. Her
family was so happy to see her and everything was getting a little better until
the girl went back because she had been drugged and couldn't resist without the
drugs they gave to her in the brothel. At the end she couldn't be saved because
she was addicted and the brothel had ruined her life for ever by one
making her a sex slave and two by drugging her so she would always come back
for more. The girls that are kidnapped they are abused and drugged and they have
wounds that cant be healed and therefore they cant be saved.
The lack of money
and resources make women and children the victims of traffickers. They are defenseless
and don't know better they are given false promises
such as job opportunities in other countries or states in that matter. Many of
those people who accept the offers from these people find themselves in
situations where they are endangered and have no choice but to obey the
people. Human trafficking is not limited to sexual abuse and prostitution
it also includes “persons who are trafficked into 'forced' marriages or into
bonded labor markets, such as sweat shops, agricultural plantations, or
domestic service.” The avoidance of human trafficking compels different
types of categories. Some categories partake low cost and can have
instant effect such as having awareness campaigns to allow high risk persons to
be informed and also having strong laws that are enforced are even an effective
warning that can influence many people.
Your introduction was written very well and so was your article. However, you might want to edit it so that your font and color is the same throughout your article. You could also, relate this story to "The road of Lost Innocence" because the main character got tricked into getting kidnapped.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to make your font a little larger because it's a little hard to read. I think you summarized what went on in your book very well and I love the examples you chose because it shows that the main character in your book went from being weak to standing up to what she feared the most and so that's what I think you did a really great job on.
