The Helps That Haiti Needs

Source: Damon Winter/The New York Times
In Haiti, the population will keep decreasing if people still live without the health insurance. They were losing more Haitians because of the people getting diseased or infected from others. Also that Haiti during earthquake it cracked psychiatric hospital. Their economy became very low during 2010, which is after the earthquake. Haiti’s earthquake has exposed the extreme lack of its mental health services just at the moment when they are most needed. Haiti’s earthquake estimated that 220,000 persons died, more than 300,000 were wounded, and more than half a million lost their homes. Many people faced diverse infectious diseases related issues. The Paul Farmer made many tents for people who need medical treatment. Different tent is providing different type of care. There are Supplies Storage, Surgical Ward, Medical Ward, and Sleeping Area. There are more small tents for other stuff for people need. They did a lot of first aid measures for people who got injure.

After earthquake in Haiti, which is in 2010 they built the University of Miami Hospital in Haiti because the other hospital got destroyed. In Haiti, they already have a major public health problem. In 2008, only 53% of the Haitian population was vaccinated against diphtheria, pertussis, or tetanus. Many kinds different disease happened to Haitians. Haiti doctor have vowed to help the Haitian government create a mental health care system that is more than just an underfinanced institution in the capital city. They really need to have many health cares for Haiti. Also most Haitians were airlifted to South Florida hospitals both field hospitals within the first month after the earthquake. Before the earthquake, tuberculosis was the seventh most common cause of death in Haiti, accounting for 4.7% of deaths among young adults People had no place to live in the country. People should ready to support the Haiti.

There are some of the worst health statistics in the Western world. The Congo is one of the most impoverished, diseased, eroded, and famished regions of Haiti. Farmer donated a lot of money to the Haiti. He’d donated the entire sum to partners in health, to create a research branch for the organization the institute for health and social justice. He was the medical director and kindness person. There are so many people getting disease and die. And child lost their parents and they became homeless. Some children too weak, their weighs only sixty pounds. Which is that shows they do not have enough food and health care. Also the death happen to the women. “Women often give birth in unhygienic conditions in their plastic shacks and without skilled birth attendants. The UN recently reported that some 800 women die every day during pregnancy and childbirth and for each of these deaths, another 20 women endure lifelong suffering because of injury, infection, disease or disabilities stemming from pregnancy, childbirth or an unsafe abortion.”

People should get ready to support Haiti to rise up their economy. That will help them to get more material and build the hospital for them. Healthcare volunteers need to take care of everyone to help them when they need help.

  1. I like how you used logos to really put the whole situation in perspective for the people who aren't going through it.

  2. I like how in the first paragraph you explain what could happen if things stay the way they are now. It makes the readers want to help change.

  3. You provide a lot of factual evidence(logos) within your writing, and you opened my eyes to the lack of Health Care in Haiti through your ethos. You made me believe every word you said, however I think your explanation of what we can do to help is a little rushed. Good start though.
